As trailer parks went, Yolo’s was pretty nice. The hedges were tall enough to block out the view from the busy road next to it, but were neatly trimmed. Most of the mobile home owners kept their houses up nicely. At the end of the park was a view of Mount Si, and you could even reach the trailhead to the mountain from the back of the park if you didn’t mind walking through a bit of low brush on your way.

Nick turned in to the park and pulled the car up to the trailer at the end of the road. It was the only one with no landscaping. He laughed to himself. It was like she and her mom thought they were going to hook it up one day and take it some place. But he knew they were never going anywhere. Even though Yolo thought she would leave with him one day, he knew better.

He hopped out of the car and bounded up the wooden steps. The flimsy metal door rattled when he knocked on it.

Maggie pulled the door open. It was already eleven o’clock, but she was still dressed in a bright red robe decorated with bold green fire-shooting dragons. He noticed she did already have her makeup on, though. She looked up at him. She was about three inches shorter than him and it didn’t help that she had on pink fluffy flat slippers. He guessed she was only in her early thirties. She was still a looker, and he didn’t mind looking. Not bothering to cinch the belt of her robe tighter, her generous breasts threatened to escape their confinement. He had to look down at her anyway and he took his time enjoying the view.

“Nice robe,” he said.

“Hey Yolo! Your boyfriend’s here!” she called out, keeping her eyes trained on Nick. She gave him a smirk before she walked back into the living room. She picked up the remote, sat down on the couch, pulled her robe tight and unmuted the TV. A cooking program was playing. A woman was explaining something to the main chef about her soufflé falling. He followed her in.

Yolo bounced out from the back bedroom, decked out in her best fitting dark jeans and her favorite royal blue cable-knit sweater. She looked over at Nick and he knew she was hoping for a compliment.

“Don’t you look lovely,” he said, taking her hand and twirling her around.

Yolo blushed, and he squeezed her against him and gave her a long, sloppy kiss. “How’s my girl?”

“Good, now!” She glanced over at her mother. “Mom! Put some clothes on, for heaven’s sake! You’re embarrassing Nick.”

Maggie shifted on the couch and crossed her legs, still leaving something to the imagination. Yolo walked over and covered her mother’s legs up with her robe. “Mom! Stop it, already!”

“It’s all right, baby. You know I only have eyes for you,” Nick said, winking at Maggie as he pulled Yolo in and kissed her cheek.

Yolo took his hand and pulled him toward the door.
